ASL is a distinct visual language of the Deaf community with its own syntax and grammar. You'll learn the basic skills of ASL productive signing and comprehensive signing – the manual alphabet, basic grammar, and numbers – and attain basic conversational ability so that you can start communicating right away! You'll also develop a valuable understanding of culturally appropriate behaviors and explore the rich and dynamic world of Deaf culture, community, and history.
