DeRLAS Special Issue: Representations of ALLUSION in Latin American Studies (art, history, literature, photography, politics, anthropology, society, video games)
Our next DeRLAS will deal with the topic of ALLUSION, whether in its general or most particular meaning.
Articles, book or film reviews, written in ENGLISH, ESPAĆOL or PORTUGUĆS, will be accepted until the 29th of February, 2020. Spread the word!
We are interested in the role that ALLUSION has played in Latin American art, history, literature, politics, and society at any given moment. How a typical literary periphrasis, a simple word or sentence becomes a metaphor of THE person or object it mentions, a quick reference to someone specific, famous or unknown, a brief comment about a myth, a painting, a piece of music, a historical or political event. The list is vast, and could include representations of ALLUSION in queer and gender studies, video games, photography, human rights and so forth.
