Italian
Our top prize is going to Luciana Vernola (Dr. Alfred H. Pagano Memorial Plaque from the Italo-Americans United Association). Luciana is an exemplary student who will be entering the Italian MA program here at UD in the fall.
Nick Gugerty has been awarded the Eugenia Slavov Award, given to a student who has excelled in more than one language.
Laura Sandu has been awarded the Italian Teaching Excellence Award, for her distinction in academic work and student teaching.

The recipient of The Dr. Sayo Yotsukura Memorial Prize for Excellence in Japanese Studies Major is Peter Lam.
Russian
The Eugenia Slavov award for excellence in Russian has been awarded to senior Russian minor Jacob Ewing.
Spanish
Best Essay in Upper-division Hispanic Literature Courses
Awarded for the best essay in an undergraduate upper-division course in Hispanic literature. Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.

The National Spanish Honor Society honors the new initiate majoring in Spanish with the highest cumulative index.

Community Engagement Scholars designation: Chloe Hundley
The Community Engagement Scholars Course of Study is a multi-year academic program that prepares undergraduate students for lives as engaged citizens. Administered by the Community Engagement Initiative, a program of the Office of the Provost, this rigorous course of study provides students in any major a framework for integrating their academic study and co-curricular service experiences through participation in course work, community focused immersion programs, co-curricular service and development of an eportfolio.
