Rome Reborn Project

​The Ancient Greek and Roman Studies Program had the pleasure of hosting two lectures in the spring term, both well-attended by faculty, students, and the general public. On April 25th, 2019 Dr. Bernard Frischer (Indiana University) presented on his "Rome Reborn" Virtual Reality project, which allows users to immerse themselves in fourth-century CE Rome. Dr. Frischer explored the ways that software such as "Rome Reborn" can be used to reconsider a variety of archaeological problems. He concluded with an interactive demonstration of several reconstructed Roman sites. The lecture was co-sponsored by the Departments of History and Art Conservation, as well as the Center for Material Culture Studies.
