Our next issue of DeRLAS will deal with the topic of Covid & Natural Disasters, whether in its general or most particular meaning.
Articles, book or film reviews, written in ENGLISH, ESPAÑOL or PORTUGUÊS, will be accepted until the 25th of August, 2020. Spread the word!
We are particularly interested in reviewing papers that address one or more of the following questions:
1. How do the pandemic and national disasters manifest in Western Hemisphere societies? How have these developments affected vulnerable socio-economic and ethnic groups within each country; i.e., Indigenous peoples and African descendants.
2. What factors account for and what are the lasting effects of the responses we have witnessed?
3. How have institutions, including the political state/political leaders, responded to these crises?
4. What are some of the meanings of the acts of kindness and solidarity we have seen and experienced during the pandemic or after natural disasters?
Authors wishing to submit papers to be considered for publication should send an abstract of 200 words (maximum), accompanied by their names, affiliation and contact information to Professor Enrique S. Pumar (email@example.com). Abstracts related to Brazil should be sent to our Portuguese-language editor Daiane Tamanaha (firstname.lastname@example.org). DeRLAS will accept abstracts until August 25, 2020. Proposed papers accepted for publication are expected by October 30, 2020.
Please consult the submission's preparation checklist HERE.
