Biography
Nancy Nobileās research focuses on German Romanticism, on aesthetic and pedagogical theories of the Goethezeit, as well as on contemporary German literature.
She at work on a book on the structure of Kleistās dramas and is the author of The School of Days: Heinrich von Kleist and the Traumas of Education. She has published articles on intertextuality, 18th-century pedagogical theories, Kleist, Rousseau, Tieck, Judith Hermann, and Jenny Erpenbeck.
Dr. Nobile has received Fulbright, Woodrow Wilson, and AATG grants. She teaches courses on German literature and culture from the 18th century to the present and has served as chair of the German faculty since 2008.
