    Jennifer Waldburger Máthé is an Italian and French instructor.  She began teaching Italian at the University of Delaware in 2006.  As a child and teenager, she lived in France and Italy. She majored in Italian and French at the University of Virginia and went on to earn a MA in Italian from Middlebury College, taking a year of courses at l’Università di Firenze and Middlebury’s Florence campus, and a summer at Middlebury College in Vermont. Jennifer earned a MS in Secondary Education from University of Pennsylvania, and began teaching Middle School and High School Italian and French in New Jersey and Delaware. Jennifer instituted the Italian program at Shawnee HS in Medford Lakes, NJ. She also taught most levels of both French and Italian, including an AP course in French, at St. Mark’s High School in Wilmington, DE. Jennifer returned to University of Pennsylvania in order to continue her studies in Italian, eventually completing her coursework and exams for the PhD in Italian Literature; she remains ABD. Jennifer taught at the local Italian summer camp, which was a two week session for elementary and middle school aged children and introduced the young people to the language, music, art, games, and food of Italy. She also worked for B Books, translating, editing, and writing evaluative questions for the second edition of EMC’s Exploring Italian. Jennifer serves as a field instructor, observing teaching candidates for the State of Delaware teaching certification.
