Iris Busch is assistant professor of German, Spanish and Foreign Language Pedagogy at the University of Delaware. She teaches elementary, intermediate and advanced language courses, the FLES methods course and the pedagogy capstone course. She supervises student teachers and she is the faculty advisor to both, the German Honor Society and the German Club on campus. She regularly directs study abroad programs.

Since 2004, Professor Busch has been a member of the Kinder Lernen Deutsch (KLD) Steering Committee (since 2012: Deutsch an Schulen/DaS) and its Writing Team and since 2013 is serving as the Committee’s chair.Professor Busch is an advocate for early language learning. She is the Delaware Representative of the National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL).

Scholarly Activities:

Professor Busch’s publications include four thematic units for the elementary and middle school curriculum (available through the AATG Materials Center) and articles on early language learning.

She regularly conducts workshops on topics of early language learning.
