Haihong Yang is an assistant professor of Chinese studies, whose area of interest is classical Chinese literature and culture, gender and literature, comparative studies of women’s poetry, and teaching Chinese as a second language. She teaches Chinese language classes of all levels, and courses in Chinese literature and culture in translation for the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures.

- Currently completing a a book-length manuscript on late imperial Chinese women's poetry.
- Several articles on poetry by women in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
