Graduate Study

Warm and accomplished faculty, extraordinary facilities, and welcoming and efficient office staff make the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Delaware one of the most rewarding opportunities for graduate study available to students genuinely interested the latest insights on how second languages are taught and how the cultural and linguistic wealth found in some of the world’s finest international literature is best explored and understood.  From the beginning, graduate students are immersed in the second language classroom where they confront the challenges of developing their students’ second language proficiency through carefully guided approaches to language instruction.  In their own classes they experience the wonders of centuries of literary artistry that broadens their vision and richly informs their own efforts at teaching.  That as graduate students, all will grow intellectually and artistically is as inevitable as the satisfaction of knowing that you know far more than you could ever have imagined.
